 ... quality product which looks great and is relatively easy to use, but unfortunately it has fallen short with its dated maps and lack of updates. Pioneer have since launched the Avic S2 which can be had for around £250 which incorporates an MP3 player, full postcode search, 30 European countries and 1.4 million points of interest which sounds like Pioneer have learned from the issues of concern with the Avic S1. Pioneer are probably more associated with making televisions rather than sat nav's which is probably why the Avic S1 looks like a shrunken plasma television with its high glossy black plastic surround, but to be perfectly honest I really like the way that it looks and it does have a nice quality feel about it without feeling cheap and nasty. The price varies but I paid around £175 for mine when they were first introduced which means that by now you should be aiming to pay a lot less.
