This was my first Sat Nav and decided to go for the Sony at the time. I soon discovered shortly after buying that Sony haven't mastered the Sat Nav market as well as other brands. Firstly you can only search using 5 postcode digits. You then have to search through several locations if your postcode doesn't appear which can be frustrating and time consuming. I owned the Nav-U50 for 3 years before selling it and during that time Sony only released 1 map update, which is very poor compared with rivals who release at least 1 per year.
