TomTom One 3rd Edition
Background

TomTom have long been the leading name in Car Navigation Systems. For this reason, they are often not the cheapest, but are definitely the most reliable and have the best features. The TomTom One is the original version, therefore the simplest, yet the 3rd edition has many of the features of the newer Car Navigation Systems.
Price and Packaging

My TomTom One was bought as a Christmas gift for £122 from the website Pixmania. As already said, you can get cheaper models but the TomTom has the best features. The packaging is simple, a square box with the instruction booklets in the bottom, the accessories (windscreen affixer, USB cable and in car charger) on top of the booklets and the TomTom itself in a plastic case sitting at the top.
Setup

The TomTom One 3rd Edition was really easy to set up. The on/off button is situated on the top of the unit and to turn on you simply have to hold down for 2 seconds. Once switched on, you are guided through the initial set up procedure, including setting the date and time, the units of distance (miles or kilometres) you would like to be displayed as well as other options to do with maps and routes.
Using the Product

Here I could go through a detailed way to use the TomTom One 3rd Edition but I feel the best way to describe it would be setting up a home address, and then setting a destination.
Setting 'Home'
This is really simple; all you have to do it press the screen, and then go to Preferences. Then find the option 'Set Home' and then press it. You have to type in your city, then street then number.
Finding a destination
Once again, press the screen and go to 'Navigate to'. You then type in city, street, number and it will automatically set the route to the preferences you selected when setting up (fastest, shortest, avoiding toll roads etc.)
All of this really shows just how simple the TomTom One 3rd Edition is to use.
Extra Features

There are all sorts of additional features on the TomTom One 3rd Edition including being able to download voices, map colour schemes and Points of Interest. On the unit itself you can press a Help Me button which will show you to the nearest hospital or police station and there is also a Points of Interest button which can take you to the nearest airport, stadium, hotel and many other things.
TomTom Home
This is the Software package that all Tom Tom users get free. This is the place to download all of the additional maps, voices and colour schemes for your TomTom One 3rd Edition. It, like the TomTom One 3rd Edition is really easy to use.
Problems

I have thus far found no problems at all with the TomTom One 3rd Edition. It is easy to use, it has good features and on the three journeys I have taken with it so far it has not led me up any railway lines!

Summary: Great value sat nav
