Advantages: Well priced easy to use

Disadvantages: none

Firstly I am a very technologically challenged person so this review is based on my usage of the satnav and not how many megagiglepixelwhotsits it has :-)

I purchased my Tomtom from Amazon just before Xmas and it cost me £89-I have seen these priced at anything up to £120 so it was a bit of a bargain!

I don't travel huge distances but i have a terrible sense of direction so thought one of these might be a good idea-It's what I suppose you would call the base model but it has a whole load of features.

Taking it out of the box it comes with a clip that you insert in the back of the Tomtom which in turn is attached to a suction pad for your windscreen, also included is a lead to link your Tomtom to your computer (needed for software updates and if you want to change the voice to another one) and a lead that charges your satnav via your cars cigarette lighter.

I have a friend (yes, believe it or not!) who lives about 10 miles from me but I have only visited once since she moved into her new house as I can never find it! So-ideal chance to try the Tomtom out.

I got into my car-put the satnav on the windscreen, plugged it into the cigarette lighter and then inputted my friends postcode and house number. The voice that is preprogrammed into it is a rather stern authorative female voice but you can change this via the website. Following the directions off I went, it took me down a lot of back roads but sure enough the woman told me 'You have reached your destination' and there i was! Don't know who was more suprised me or my friend!

I later found out that i had it set to 'fastest' route which is why it took me round the back roads. You can change this to shortest route or to avoid motorways.

I'm not going to bore you with technical specs as you can find all these in the description at the top of the page.

It's a great device and i feel safer using it-theres even a feature that can instantly direct you to the nearest hospital (you never know!) , it's easy to use (obviously if i can work it) and a good price for what you get.

Summary: gets you where you want to be!

I'm in Devon -as long as you don't get stuck behind a tractor you're laughing!

I am little surprised that "back roads" are faster...depends where you are I guess.
