Advantages: no more maps or stopping people
Disadvantages: now and again a hiccup but very rare
I can go along a row of shops go in one and when I come out turn the wrong direction so you can just imagine what I am like in a car so a Tom Tom for me is ideal.
This Tom tom is easy to use.
After turning on by pressing down the button at the top you will have all your directions come up on sc reen for setting it up.
You can have as much or as little as you want set up.
Menu will show navigate to, find alternative, add favourite or change preferences.
To navigate to you can use home, favourite, address, recent destination and points of interest. To go from A to B click on address and it will come up that you can put in city centre, street and house number or just put in the postcode.
Once you have put in your destination you will be able to ask for the fastest route and how long it will take you to get there. If you have to be there by a certain time it will tell you what time to leave your home.
You can choose from a variety of voices to tell you the route. This is good as if you find the voice you have chosen gets on your nerves you can change it.
So what does this voice tell you? Well Jane, that is who we chose, will tell you how many yards it is to the next junction and which road to come off at the roundabout.
You not only have the voice but a route comes up on the screen.
You can also choose on the screen to have say cash points marked and post offices or speed traps.
Keep an eye on the screen as it will also tell you if you are speeding!
When you get to the destination a voice will even say "you have now reached your destination" and do you know what you are usually right outside the door.
I have only once had it tell me wrong and that was to a dead end but other than that it has been dead accurate.
One thing I have noticed is that you can rely on the tom tom a bit too much. I found on a route I knew like the back of my hand on a roundabout I looked at the screen to see which road to take instead of using my brain or even looking at the sign post.
I would definately recommend using this though as it is great especially when you are going to new places or actually to where you go often as we once found a short cut on a route we had used for years. Didnt know the short cut exsisted and knocked 4 miles off the trip.
Thank you for reading. x
Summary: Fantastic to have in the car for any journey and could cut miles off routes you do know
