The thought of a talking car telling you where to go was once thought to be so far fetched that people would laugh at the idea of such a thing. Now it's becoming quite common place to have one of these. This model is from TOMTOM and has made my life so much easier. I'm not the best when it comes to finding my way around, in the past it has been known for me to have gotten lost driving home (admittedly it was a new house, but it was still embarrassing).

So when my mother bought me one of these for Christmas I was thrilled.
Straight away it starts working by using the TOMTOM live services (free for a year) It actually detects the quickest way to get to your destination once you have entered it, by using the HD traffic function. This actually uses up to the minute traffic information and suggests the fastest way with the least traffic on the roads. There is also a handy alert to tell you when your approaching fixed speed cameras, this is not a reason to speed just extra information.


A triangular blue arrow guides you along the easy to read maps. Although you won't really be looking at the screen, as you will be looking at the road, so the voice commands are what you will be relaying on. These are very easy to understand and hear. And the sat-nav ( satellite navigation system ) actually uses text to speech technology to accurately read street names.

The touch screen display size on this model is 4.3 inches with a Resolution of 480 x 272.
There is also the option to make hands free phone calls using the built in speakers and microphone, as the unit is Bluetooth ready. The battery running time is only two hours per charge although an in car charger adapter is included.

Theses are amazing gadgets and make life so much easier for every driver. The extra functions that come at an extra charge once the free year has past, make a big difference and I would recommend them to anyone getting one of theses or any TOMTOM sat-Nav
