I bought an original TomTom one when i first started driving ans was very impressed with its capability, so much so i upgraded to the XL IQ Routes Edition when i found a good price. The overall interface has been updated to give it a fresher more advanced look but all in all it does the same as my original model. Easy to use and update i would recommend the TomTom to any driver. I have only used this in the Northwest but i have not come across and problems with its functionality. This edition has a 4.3inch widscreen but to be honest it did not really make much of a difference. I love the fact you can set your preferences to suit your individual need i.e. route preferences, colour scheme, information available on screen and voice commands etc. Unfortunately I experienced a bit of a delay when first turning the sat nav on as it needs to be able to search for a satellite prior to setting the route guidance but i did have this with my original model and have experienced this with my friends in car sat nav (other model). Lots of applications can be easily downloaded at a cost however with this version i received a free trial of safety alerts and fuel prices which i also received with my previous model. In the box was an easy to mount device for your windscreen but unfortunately you need to purchase your own sat nav case. With my previous model i did use the warranty services as my sat nav lost all sound after only 6 months, The product was replaced within 7 days but unfortunately i lost my free trial of safety alerts as the sat nav was reset so beware of this as i only noticed it after a few weeks. All in all i would recommend Tom Tom but i would personally stick to a lower priced model as i think you get everything you need from this version.
