Advantages: helps me find places

Disadvantages: none

My sense of direction is absolutely shocking. So when my girlfriend was looking for a birthday present for me it was not much of a surprise that she saw a satnav as a perfect present for me. She opted for the TomTom XL 2 IQ Routes Edition Europe 42 claiming she chose it due to have great reviews.

The satnav is created with built in navigation around Europe. I use it all the time in England and its maps are great. Also I have taken it to use in Germany, Spain and France without any real problems.

I looked up the model online recently and saw it on sale at Amazon for £95.
When I received my present the satnav came in a tight, secure box along with an in car charger, PND, holder, usb cable and instructions.

It is a sleek black colour that looks pretty sharp and high tech. It has a loud speaker built in the back that is loud enough for the car. When you need more attention I do recommend turning down your radio. There is a small screen (4.3") but big enough to see small map. This is a great size because it is not distracting when driving.

Once out of the original packaging the satnav is ready to go. Simply plug it in and touch the screen and it comes alive. It is a touch screen and very simple to use. Big icons appear for you to select and even my fat thumbs don't hit the wrong icon. It allows you to choose different destinations or simple enter a postcode. It will also save your older destinations. Whilst the satnav directs you can choose to see a map and have a voice to tell you where to go. A handy function on the sat nav is that it tells you where your nearest services are such as food, petrol, park etc.

It is a great satnav that gets me out of so many sticky situations. The only problem now is that I don't have an excuse for being late.
