Advantages: Stylish, Easy to use, helps with direction

Disadvantages: Often leads in the wrong direction

Well in general I have a lack of general direction even though I have lived in the same county for the whole of my life. I cannot read a map, and especially not while driving as I am sure this would break some law or section of the highway code. I decided before I started my course at university to buy a sat nav so that I could find my way not only to lectures but also placements; the bonus is that I could even use it for day trips (or so I thought).

Tom Tom are a Dutch company creating the first navigator product in 2002 after moving from a PDA only production. Since then a new model has been released each year updating features each time such as speed camera detection and the larger easier to see screens.

This particular model is built for use in both the UK and the rest of Europe, I have only used this within England so can only pass judgement upon its use here. The Sat Nav in general works well giving a clear display which is visible at a glimpse whilst driving. The touch screen is sensitive allowing address input and other functions to occur with ease.
The negatives are that the voice often cuts out or tells you to take a turn at the last minute forcing an emergency stop and a dangerous situation. I have often been taken down private driveways and into petrol stations as the sat nav believes that a road is still here (yes I do update the sat nav monthly to no avail). Also the sat nav only points me in the general direction of the house or building I am looking for an I often have to piece the rest of the way myself.

The box is very sturdy and the sat nav arrived in perfect condition with USB cable and car charger.

The unit itself looks stylish and fits in with most car interiors. The screen size is good enough for both the driver and passengers to see without causing too much distraction. The speaker can be turned from 0% to 100% and is loud enough to hear as long as the windows are shut and your music low.

Easy to set up as the sat nav needs charging, turning on and away you go, just remember to update regularly and good luck.

Summary: Another helpful little sat nav just needing some improvements
