Sapphire Radeon X1650 XT ... bought this card for a now aging machine of mine that just needed a little bit more kick in it for gaming. The rest of the machine runs really well, a 3200+ 64 bit AMD chip, couple of gig of ram and a decent hard drive, so this card seemed to fit the bill. The particular game in question was Command and Conquer 3, and suffice to say that it allows the machine to run the game on at least medium/high settings in all areas, which compared to the low settings I could run under my old 128mb card was a definite step forwards. The video output (DVI) may not be everyone s first choice as most monitor s still come as standard with VGA connections, but the card does come with ... XFX GeForce 7900GT Extreme Edition ... decided to upgrade my old AGP graphics card to a 7900GT after reading great reviews of it in a PC magazine a while back. I managed to pick up one for just over £200 and immediately noticed a performance increase when playing highly graphics intensive games. The card still stands up to new games today and you can also team two of them up using SLI technology. The XFX range of this card look great with a decent size heatsinc and fan to disipate the heat well. This also allows you to overclock the card should you wish to get some extra speed out of the card.
