Matrox Millenium G200 ... G200 may be a little old now, but still has its uses. For example, as part of a hobby of mine, some of the best programs I still want to be able to use run in Msdos, and sometimes do not work on modern computers. After experimenting with different computers and research on the internet I found the operating system to be irrelevant, and it was actually the graphics card that stopped the program working. Previously I was using the internal graphics card on the motherboard, and the dos programs would not run at all, however as soon as I plugged in the graphics card into the agp slot the programs run fine, and I m still using the g200 to run these programs (with windows... Asus EAH4850/HTDI/512M ... bought the EAH4850 to try and play so modernish games, such as GTA IV, and it doesn t disappoint. Previously, while using the internal graphics card on my pc, GTA IV was unplayable and other most other games could only be run on minimum settings. With the 4850 I can increase the settings on those games almost up to maximum. I can only run GTA IV on medium settings as the rest of my computer isn t up to the specs, but if I upgrade the rest of my computer I can simply transfer the 4850 to my new computer (as long as it has a PCI E socket which is becoming standard on most motherboards). Sapphire Radeon HD 4890 OC ... presently have 2 of these GPU s running in my rig. In my opinion ATI presently have the upper hand on NVIDIA with regard to bang for buck at the moment. Very generally, 2 of these cards will outperform a GTX295 in most games, not all but most. A single 4890 will perform similar to a GTX275 and in some applications it can be compared to a GTX285. I have had no serious issues with these cards. They run hot, but that is how they are designed. Catalyst Control Centre (CCC) can be easily tweaked to alter fan speeds if you start get worried about the temperatures. Alternatively you could use Rivatuner top set up your own fan profiles.
