I finally replaced my old Diamond Stealth II 4 meg PCI video card with a 3dfx Voodo3 3000 AGP 16 meg card. At first I could not tell any difference, but then I tried a few games that did not run well before and they all ran perfect, I could not believe the quality difference. Then I tried something else. I keep the windows resource meter on because in the past when I ran 4 surfing bars it would warn me when my resources were running low, as you know your system can lock up when your resources are gone. I am happy to say I can run 8 surfing programs and the meter stays in the green. Yes it was worth the investment, I recommend it to anyone. The Voodoo3 3000 comes ... Read the complete review

I was struggling for performance, and I needed to improve the graphic, I had a very bad FPS on all games, and even then the quality was set on the lowest, so i saved up and bought my self a Voodoo 3 3000 card, and it is brilliant, I am now getting about 4-5 times the FPS I was getting before, and the resolution was much better, I can run all games on 1024*928 with a reasonable FPS, there are no problems with this crad that I can find, just that if you have an onboard graphics card then ensure that you disable this properly, if you don't disable it you will not be able to use your nice High Performance card, and trust me, it is well worth the money, if you have a ... As an owner of the voodoo 3 2000 pci I was interested to see what the difference between these two cards was. I have seen what it can do in an identical machine to mine and I'll be honest - you'll be hard pushed to see where your extra money is going. It does cope slightly better at times keeping up a very good frame rate on many games but bearing in mind that the cost of this card is DOUBLE that of the 3-2000 I don't see how you can justify spending the extra money. Installation is the same as the voodoo 3 2000 (very easy, excellent software) and it is a very good quality card. My advice though is save yourself £50 and go for the voodoo 3 ... I recently upgraded my aged 200 pentium mmx pc`s graphics card from a Videologic Apocalypse 3D card to a Voodoo3 3000 pci as I found that it could not cope with the new generation of 3d games that was available,to say that the difference is amazing is an understatement, many games that I used to run in low res,low detail mode can now be run at the opposite end of the spectrum. The only real downside I have found is that in certain games that use Glide, the Gamma settings could not be pushed high enough so I had to use a third party bit of software to compensate for this. These cards tend to run extremely hot,so I have fitted a fan to the top of the heatsink, and ... Read the complete review
