XFX GeForce 8800 GT Alpha Dog Edition XXX:
... went for this card when I built a new PC, My old one wouldn t play Oblivion on high spec. You could only see about 20 feet in front of you. I also upgraded to vista so I wanted a a card that was direct x10 compatable. This card is very impresive, especially for the price. On reinstalling Elder scrolls Oblivion the differance was staggering. I can now run it on maximum and the clarity of the draw distance is amaz... Read the full review: cheap but not nasty by badvok |

Palit GeForce 9600GT ... bought this graphics card as i had upgraded the rest of my system and my 8600GT was a little lack luster. Boy what a difference this thing made! I wont go into system specs but i have a fairly good pc and i get around 250 fps on full graphics in counter strike source with EVERYTHING going on, ie smokes, grenades, multiple gunshots etc. When your system starts up this card is incredibly loud, but dont fear beacuse once teh drivers load the fan speed slows right down to less than that of a silent Nexus 120mm fan. The card itself is not humungous, but is still reasonably large. Not a problem if you have a full atx case, worth checking sizes if your on micro-atx. Betw... Asus A9550/TD/128 ... purchased this graphics card a few years ago for around £40 as an upgrade for an AGP Shuttle system. Now the price is much lower, so you could probably get it for around £20 or less. The only purpose for this card was to play Outrun, which the standard motherboard could not run very well. Also this card has the important DVI output. Like any other AGP graphics card, you simply stick in the AGP slot, boot up the computer and install the drivers. At the monitor s native 1440x900 resolution, the graphics card is not quite able to able to play Outrun at 60 fps. The game struggles slightly, however downloading a piece of overclocking software called ATITool increases perf... Read the full review: A reliable graphics card by shuttlex |

Asus EAH4850/HTDI/512M ... time came to replace my graphics card I asked around my friends, and read reviews and consistently heard good things about the ATI HD4850. At around £110 it was a low-mid range price, with many sources reporting that it was performing similarly to £500+ cards. Once I had settled on the HD4850, I used dabs.com to search for a card. Although there were cheaper cards, I chose the ASUS as it is a brand I am familiar with and trust to give good quality. When it arrived and I installed it in my machine I was suprised at how much better than my old card (ATI x1950 Pro) it was. It can happily run almost anything I throw at it on full settings. I have used it to run: Call... Read the full review: A good price and spec card by pudder |
