Elsa Gladiac 920 ... i have said in some of my previous reviews and opionions i am a great fan of Elsa. And i am pleased to say i maintain a high opinion of them with this product. I needed a graphics upgrade as i had an ever aging Voodoo 3 3000, anyway i was going to get the Geforce 2 Ultra but for just a little extra i could get my hands on a GF3, anyway i will carry on. I bought this card from Novatech.co.uk for £265 i believe the price has gone up now though :( I got it home and installed it, as usuall very simple. The drivers went on fine and i was up and running very quickly. So i decided i would try it out. So i boot up quake 3, WOW, what a card i am achieving absolutly ... Elsa Gladiac 920 ... card has been long overdue for release and finally it's started to dribble out shipments. After having a great time with a Voodoo 5 5500AGP card i knew that the essence in major gaming was becoming more power hungry. Frame rates are now a key figure in having a system capable of delivering your graphical needs. My V5 was getting left behind by the power of the Geforce GPU systems. The new games incorporating Direct3d and OpenGL need something with performance capabilites that put lower cards to shame. 3dfx Voodoo5 5500 ... does your PC have an AGP slot? If yes then you can stop right now and go to the NVidia section and start looking at GeForce 2MX cards. No? Many of us less fortunate have to find something that will fit in our antiquated PCI slots, and there isn't really much choice other than the Voodoo5 5500 PCI or a total PC upgrade. The lower specification Voodoo cards are just too old to power the latest games. But...What should have been an easy decision has recently been made more awkward because 3dfx, the makers of the Voodoo cards are no longer in business, having been bought and and effectively closed down by their rivals NVidia.
