So the descriptions of the difference between my 8M video card and the GeForce 2 MX may sound exaggerated. I was looking for a new video card so I bought this one. It was cheap, and had the well-known Nvidia name on it. The best thing about this card is the price vs. quality. This is a CHEAP video card but it's good quality. It has the Geforce 2 MX chipset. Now, you might think that since it's a cheap video card, that means it's not that good. Well, you're wrong. For a 3D accelerator card, this is cheap. After having a great time with a Voodoo 5 5500AGP card i knew that the essence in major gaming was becoming more power hungry. Frame rates are now a key figure in having a system capable of delivering your graphical needs. My V5 was getting left behind by the power of the Geforce GPU systems. The new games incorporating Direct3d and OpenGL need something with performance capabilites that put lower cards to shame. 3dfx Voodoo3 AGP ... had always been a 3DFX fanatic, I bought the original 'Voodoo' card when it was released. I was amazed at how it made my 133mhz Pentium better than a Playstation (just!). Of course, I purchased the 'Voodoo2' and was pleased with the increased performance and detail. When I bought the 'Voodoo3 3000' I wasn't amazed or excited, because it, essentially, is just a better performing version of the others. As always, it has full support from (almost) all games. Still, it only has 16bit colour in 3D mode, why? On the 2D side, the card is very quick, with high refresh rates at high resolutions, thanks to its 16mb of RAM. Over all, this is a so...
