Creative 3D Blaster GeForce2 Ultra:
... is only one word which describes this card, and that is fast. It powers through any games available today, and I'd imagine OpenGL stuff as well, judging by the ludicrous frame rates in Quake3. You do, however, need a fast machine to get the best out of it. If you have something slower than around 600-700Mhz then you won't notice much difference between this and the Geforce 2 GTS which is cheaper and ... Matrox Marvel G400 TV ... have really got a beauty product on their hands here. You cannot go far wrong with the G400 Marvel. Although the 3d side of it is a bit long in the tooth, the video capture side of it is really awesome! If you are wanting to edit your home videos then this is the card for you! Although it does not support Firewire (and so if you have a nice Digital video camera you would be better off going for another solution) for those of us with hi-8 or VHS-C cameras, this card is exactly what you need. Sporting a break-out box, so you don't have to fiddle around behind your PC, all of your connections are right on the desktop. You get composite video in/out, s-video in/o... Matrox Millennium G400 Max ... is my review/opinion of the Matrox G400 32MB Dual Head (not Max) graphic card. I have been using Matrox graphic cards since some 5 years back. Back then, it was the Matrox Mystique. At the moment their graphic cards are the G400 and G450 range. For the end user, the G400 and G450 can be considered to be the same. I have been using the G400 for almost 8 months now and it doesn't disappoint. The card comes with dual head which allows you to connect to two monitors at the same time. This is particularly useful for graphic editing and HTML work by the way. No more switching between program views. If you don't need the dual head, you can get the single head ver... Creative Blaster RIVA TNT ... bought this card to replace my 2D only card. I used this card for over a year before upgrading. If you search hard enought, you can pick this card quite cheap second hand. If you want a card that works, get this. I never had any problems with this card. The drivers are mature and the speed it quite good considering that this card has been replaced with cards like the TNT2 and Geforce. Picture sharpness up to 1024x768 is good. I don't know what it is like at higher resolutions because my monitor cannot take it.If you have a Duron, Athlon or Pentium III, and are not concerned with having maximum FPS (ie. Quake), and you want a card that is cheap and good value for mon... Read the full review: Good 3D card by ko196 |
