... presently have 2 of these GPU s running in my rig. In my opinion ATI presently have the upper hand on NVIDIA with regard to bang for buck at the moment. Very generally, 2 of these cards will outperform a GTX295 in most games, not all but most. A single 4890 will perform similar to a GTX275 and in some applications it can be compared to a GTX285. At the monitor s native 1440x900 resolution, the graphics card is not quite able to able to play Outrun at 60 fps. The game struggles slightly, however downloading a piece of overclocking software called ATITool increases performance to 60 fps with the occasional video glitching. However at the standard 1280 x 720 resolution, this graphics card doesn t have any difficulties. Asus EAH4850/HTDI/512M ... time came to replace my graphics card I asked around my friends, and read reviews and consistently heard good things about the ATI HD4850. At around £110 it was a low-mid range price, with many sources reporting that it was performing similarly to £500+ cards. Once I had settled on the HD4850, I used dabs.com to search for a card. Although there were cheaper cards, I chose the ASUS as it is a brand I am familiar with and trust to give good quality. Sapphire Radeon HD 3450 ... which is partly why I upgraded my graphics card. This card does, however, feature DVI and HDCP which mean that it can support a HDTV and this is great for those who like me love movies in high definition quality. I used this feature on a few occasions and everything went smoothly with no problems. It features 256mb of DDR2 ram which isn t spectacular in todays gaming world when you consider the ATI HD4870 s and Nvidia 280gtx s featuring a gig s worth of GDDR4 ram with extreme graphics capabilities. To summarise, you aren t going to get a whole lot of power with this card, but for the average user this card will get the job done for a small price, nuff said....
