Sapphire Radeon HD 3650 ... card is really quite the bargain. Selling now at around the £50 mark it offers a lot of punch for your pound. I run this in a rig containing a 2.66ghz core duo processor and 3 gig of RAM. The combination allows me to run the latest releases, all generally on high settings. This said it does sometimes struggle with settings such as water and anti-aliasing so if you re particularly keen on these it might pay to spend a little more and get something a bit higher up the technological tree. I initially bought one of these and unfortunately it crashed my machine after about half an hours gaming, however upon returning it to the store for an exchange the card has run fine ... Sapphire Radeon X1650 XT ... bought this card for a now aging machine of mine that just needed a little bit more kick in it for gaming. The rest of the machine runs really well, a 3200+ 64 bit AMD chip, couple of gig of ram and a decent hard drive, so this card seemed to fit the bill. The particular game in question was Command and Conquer 3, and suffice to say that it allows the machine to run the game on at least medium/high settings in all areas, which compared to the low settings I could run under my old 128mb card was a definite step forwards. The video output (DVI) may not be everyone s first choice as most monitor s still come as standard with VGA connections, but the card does come with ... Sapphire Radeon HD 4870 ... bought this graphics card when it first came out, and I have been very impressed with it so far considering its my first ATi product for quite a few years. However, comparing it to other graphics cards that are available on the market now, this would not be a wise choice. Firstly, NVidia have released an updated GTX260 that surpasses this cards performance, and secondly I would opt for the 1GB option. Upto resolutions of 1680*1050, with a little AA and AF this card handles everything, including Crysis at a mixture of High and Very High details.
