Back in 2007 I decided to build my own PC - as I like to play games and use 3d modelling programs It needed to be powerful and have a lot of graphical processing power under its hood. After a lot of research in to graphics cards I realised that the choice would end up being from either ATI or Nvidia. I chose this card. There was no technical reason why I chose Nvidia over Radeon, but unlike ATI cards, I did understand the GeForce naming conventions. Running the fan at 68% with EVGA s precision tool during these games will yield GPU temps of 70C (not bad at all!). Now, for those of you who are worried about this completely covering up your SATA ports: you re in luck. You won t be able to use normal SATA cables and fish your way around the card, there isn t enough clearance. Zotac GeForce 8800GT AMP! Edition ... card is a god send! I ve had this card for at least 1 year now, and it still works. I got this card when it was first released, and when i got it then it was a beast. This card still plays everything, such as CoD:4 and WaW in full graphics with some tweaked settings. Now this card is easy to pick up and cheap, and is a good choice if on a limited budget. Hasn t packed in at all, and looks smart too! Easy to install, but as with any older card it will be slower then more recent cards.
