mrbibbly Creative 3D Blaster Savage4: ... bought this graphics card a few weeks ago, from Dixons,in a clearance sale for £30.Having a rather old and cranky pc,I thought this might make a good difference to the performance. Having an old motherboard without an AGP slot designed for the newer boards,I had to resort to the PCI slot solution.I was immediately impressed by the 32 MB of memory on board and what a difference it has made to my general windows an...

CyrixDes Diamond Stealth III S540
... Savage 4 chipset has been pushed hard by Diamond particularly since S3 and Diamond merged, with S3 making the Savage 4 chipset it is obvious that they would stick with this. Diamond have released 2 cards with the Savage 4 chipset, the Diamond Stealth III S540 (the card i'm reviewing now) and the Diamond Stealth III S540 Xtreme. The difference being that the standard S540 was using the Savage 4 chipset and the Xtreme uses the Savage 4 Pro+ chipset which is significantly quicker. Anyway onto the review: I upgraded my computer about 2 years ago now and went from my old 486 machine upto a Cyrix MII-300. Obviously I needed a new graphics card and ended up with a Vid...

Tapper2000 Diamond Stealth III S540
... recently got me mittens on this card, and i was excited about using it.The specs make you think ooooooooooooooo sexy card, 32mb, 4x agp..wow! So i zoomed home from collage and ripped open my computer, took out me trusty 4mb ATI rage pro and eagerly slotted the card in. All looked well at first..butttt first, the initial drivers werent that good and the game i was testing it out on (quake3) didnt work properly, some graphics were missing. I then found a recent magazine cover cd and updated the drivers. This sorted out the problem and i was very pleased with the results. 1024x768 and 32bit colour and all graphics at the highest setting, and the game ran like a dream! How...

soulfish Creative 3D Blaster Savage4
... savage blaster 4 is the 3D card that I'm curently using in my PC at the moment. Apart from a spattering of games, I find that the card is very useful and gives me quite good peformance. You couldn't compare this card the the like of a GeForce 2 or something similair because it was designed and built at least a year before they we're built. If I had to chose between a Voddoo 3 3000 PCI and the savage 4 the savage 4 would win every time. Not only does it have more on board memory but in my opinion it gives better benchmarks. ...
