Advantages: DVD, Value for money, Good gaming profrmance
Disadvantages: Lack of anything in the box, Driver conflicts with the ATI TV wonder, Hardend gamer won't like this card
Iam a student and also work part time but still dont have the muola to buy a GForce 4 MX GX SX GTI or what ever Nvida call them today. So I opt for the budget option but dont wana to be taken for a ride down the bad frame rate street. For most of my computing life i aways had a ATI under the hud of my system and we have always had a love hate relationship. Love from the great DVD hardware compensation they fit to their chips and from the compentant proformance the cards deliver. The Hate side was from the doggy hardware drivers issued from time to time and the ossimion of the DVD software from OEM products in the past. A few weeks ago I descied to upgrade my system and a new card was in order for this grand occasion so I went for the Radeon 7500 64mb DDR. I went for the full boxed version and this included all the cables you need for TV out put, duel monitor support and flat panel monitors. A laugthable start up guide that shows somone fiting a pci gfx card. CD drivers for win 95, 98 and ME note that you have to download the XP drivers from ATI and I would update driver for any system anyways. The card its self is well built with a low profile heatsink and fan fitted to the GPU for extra cooling power. My card has been tested under Win 98 and Win XP and works well under desktop conditions with high refresh rates for those with sensitive eyes. Gaming proformace is midrange with all the latest games working well with good frame rates and all the OH's! and ARR's! the ATI charisma graphics engine delivers on screen. The biggest stand up point is the DVD decoding given by the card which again is the best in the world (I read somewhere) the films are crisp and clear and the lip sink perfect. The only drawback with this card is the lack of anything in the box (games, e.t.c) apart from the essentials. YOU ON A BUDGET? YOU LIKE DVD? well its because this is the best card for value for money and profrom
ance. So buy it....or get the Radeon 8500 128mb DDR for better gaming proformance.
