      Very helpful

a good card but you probably can find something better for the same price range

If you are looking for a good video card for a good price this can be a good choice, I'd like to go straight to the point so even users who has no real knowledge of video cards can know what are it's strenght points and it's weakness.

      strenght points:

still gives a very decent/good framerate with almost every know games including oblivion and many others almost new games.

It has a good windows support.

It has the possibility to overclock it by activating 4 more pipeline in most model (this one it's risky so don't blame me if yuo have a problem with that, by doing so you will get a 20-25% more out of this video card by going very near the level of a x800 xl or you risk of having some bios problem)

now the drawbacks of the card:

It will not accelerate HD-TV channels if you have a sat card.

IT has only pixel shader 2.0 and 3.0 support.

IT has a poor linux drivers qualty for the moment but ati is slowly working on it and every month there are new release of it's linux drivers

Overall I think is a good card if you like to play games, but I think I would settle for a different one in it's actual price range at the moment.
I have this card and I am very happy with it but if you are looking for a good one you probably should look a for a new kind of video card or maybe stop for a moment to think it trough seen that the only one that support vista out of the box and will be directx 10 compliant seems to be the nvidia 8800 and it certainly does not fall into the same price range category...
