There is only one word which describes this card, and that is fast. It powers through any games available today, and I'd imagine OpenGL stuff as well, judging by the ludicrous frame rates in Quake3.

You do, however, need a fast machine to get the best out of it. If you have something slower than around 600-700Mhz then you won't notice much difference between this and the Geforce 2 GTS which is cheaper and let's face it is still a very fast card.

It has 64MB of DDR SDRAM. This has twice the bandwidth of regular RAM, and is as much as many computers had only 1-2 years ago.

It was easy to install, simply plug in, and install the drivers off the CD. I then went to the Nvidia site and downloaded updated drivers, again without a hitch.

Picture quality is excellent, DVD playback is excellent without a dedicated DVD card.

It is still pricey, and most people would find it hard to justify over even the Geforce 2MX which can cope with just about most games in high resolution with all the options turned on, but this will last. Even in another year or year and a half it should be going strong - the Geforce 2 GTS came out last May, and is still a very fast card.

In conclusion very fast, expensive, but should last a decent amount of time - at least 12-18 months
