Advantages: Great solid card
Disadvantages: Registering for warranty is possibly very frustrating
EVGA is one of the better manufacturers of NVIDIA graphics cards, that is why I paid slightly over the average price for the EVGA 8800GT.
The box it arrives in is plain but tells you stuff you need to know regarding specs, useful if you were to buy it in a shop. The card is packaged well and comes with 2 VGA to DVI adaptors as well as some other cables that I have not needed.
The card itself is the standard NVIDIA design. The first thing I thought it how sleek and big it is. The fan seems bigger than on some other standard cards I have seen.
The cards performance is outstanding for the cost. With a Core 2 Duo at 2.8ghz I get 12000 3DMark06. The card does get very hot when runnning so make sure your case is well ventalated. Although the fan is very quiet. You can increase the fan speed with software like RIVATUNER but it does get loud quite quickly.
There is only one negative thing I have to say about this graphics card. It is not the graphics card itself but the warranty. EVGA advertise it as 10 years, however you must register within 30days of purchase to get this, something I forgot. If you dont register you still get a rather decent 2 year warranty. This warranty covers overclocking and replacing the cooler so you need'nt worry about that. I docked one mark on reliability for this reason.
Overall it was a good buy although make sure you remember to register as losing the 10 year warranty was very frustrating.
Summary: Good buy, but make sure you register within 30days!
