The GeForce graphics card.

You ALL know the specs or you don't care. But either way I'm sure you would have been bombarded with loads of marketing and hype. And I'm also sure you would have read countless reviews about it. And some to be very very detailed on specs and actual figures.

But in this opinion you will get my opinions and barely any specs.

I first got my GeForce card about a year ago. Back then this model was top end. And the TNT2 Ultra was second best.

I really didn't know just how powerful my card was until I had a friend come around. At the time we both had PIII 500. The only difference was that I had a GeForce and he had a TNT2 Ultra. When we played UT he immediatly relised JUST HOW much SMOOTHER everything looked on my computer. He was really shocked at just how good the quality was. The smoothness and the higher resolution I was playing with. I run mine at 1280x1024x32 and he would only run 1024x768x16.

Then I came around his house. It was definately different and not the same. You ONLY relise what you got until you see someone else with less. His machine was slow and lagging in places of action. And overall it was even worse for me. As I was use to a smooth game and he was use to what he had. Then when he came to see mine pc and game in action it was really different for him.

I just thought it *couldn't* have made such a difference and he'd have a very similar smoothness in game. But I was wrong.

Believe the hype. The GeForce cards are very good. They GREATLY improve the gaming experience.

This model of the GeForce 256DDR is now quite old now. You can get a GeForce3 now with 64mb DDR ram thats EVEN quicker. But I'd say the BEST buy and value for money would be the GTS2 version!. They are much much cheaper and offer a similar level of gaming. The only difference is at the really high end graphics. And I'm sure some of
your monitors won't even reach it let alone play it!.

So if you want a cheap option go with a GeForce DDR. its cheaper and its ALMOST just as good.

BUY ONE if you want decent speeds with not a huge dent in your pocket. More money for games! or that cable modem!!!
