Advantages: 65nm size, less power consumption, HD supporting technology, very cheap, pure video technology, SLI
Disadvantages: just remake of 8600 gt version, less core clock speed, lower performance than 8600GT.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Usually, in modern days computing market, the manufacturers tend to built in the Graphics Processor Unit (GPU) with the motherboard, which is helpful. But it entirely does not accomplish the maximum output for graphics requirements for a PC system. It is far less powerful and serves the nominal performance than a dedicated graphics card.
In present day market, there are two world-class renowned companies providing the best graphics card to the consumers, one of them is NVIDIA and the other one is ATI. Though in my personal opinion, the hardcore gamers prefer the NVIDIA for its boastful performance, superiority in viewer satisfying ability.
INTRODUCTION OF THE PRODUCT
Geforce 9500GT is specially designed only for desktops, it s the successor of 8600gt model. The Geforce nine series is the ninth generation of NVIDIA's Geforce series of graphics processing units and first released in international market at end of February 2008. Just to clear a fact that, 9500 gt model has been considered as the entry level GPU for the geforce 9 series with codename of D9M.
SPECIFICATION:
The most important improvement has done for 9500GT is the much smaller manufacturing size. It was 80nm for the 8600 gt, where as it has been significantly reduced to 65nm, which helps fast processing speed, less heat and less power consumption. Pretty impressive isn't it?
Let's consider about bandwidth and bus speed of 9500gt. It supports both ddr2 and ddr3 configuration. Memory clock speed for DDR2 is 500MHZ where as for DDR3 it gives you the boastful speed of 800 MHz Again, in case of DDR3 the standard memory configuration is 512 MB accompanying with memory interface width of 128bit and the massive bandwidth of 25.6 GB/s. On the other hand for DDR2 it supports up to 256 mb having same memory interface width and bandwidth of 16 gb/s.
The processor core of 9500 GT is 32 with graphics clock speed 550 MHz and processor clock (shader clock) speed of 1400 MHz and having a shader/core ratio of 2.5x. It supports DirectX10 version.
ADDITIONAL FEATURES AND ADVANTAGES:
The primary feature of this graphics card is SLI technology or scalable link interface. This technology allows the graphics card to link two or more cards together and results a single output. It is also known as parallel processing. It just simply boasts your graphics card performance, increases up to twice of its initial speed. It is definitely an outstanding feature to be honest. This is what we gamers looking for.
This 9500GT card is the one of the best choice for latest HD viewing technology in your pc. There is additional software NVIDIA supplies with this card is pure video technology which enables you to enjoy the HD viewing experience. It's also allows some excellent resolution such as 2560x1600 digital resolution and also supports up to 2048x 1536 VGA resolution. It,s just outstanding performance from NVIDIA. It is relatively very cheap compare to its specification; you can get it just under £70.
LIMITATIONS:
Let's consider about some setbacks of the graphics card. Personally I really love this little maestro 9500GT. Still it is just a revised model of 8600GT. In some certain cases, 8600GT outperforms 9500gt as well such as core clock of 675 MHz and memory clock of 1000MHz. Lower clock cores disallows the graphics card to achieve the desired viewing experience and lacks in 3D technology. 8600GT also outperforms the 9500GT in HD viewing technology. In recent news, NVIDIA is ready to launch new modified version of 9500GT with 750Mhz .
All in all, it's the best choice for gamers and multimedia fans. You will have HD facility and also high spec gaming experience and very powerful video output from your PC. Comparing it s price and also high tech performances it is highly recommended.
Summary: An outstanding and very cheap graphics card for your gaming and utmost multimedia experience.

- 29/04/09 Nicely reviewed I always used to use nVidia's graphics cards up until recently, when my old PC died and I got a new custom built one which included an ATi graphics card. However this looks like a good upgrade to what I'm using at the moment. |
