Advantages: Good price, DirectX9 compatable, Good games package with new card

Disadvantages: Slow compaired with TI versions, Unable to overclock, Lack of ram cooling

The 5200 FX represents the next generation?s equivalent to the MX line of previous GeForce versions. Now before you start moaning about ?another MX? you should remember that this card is fully DirectX9 compliant. This is a shift from the MX lines that always seemed significantly hamstrung with not fully supporting their respective era?s version of DirectX. Not here, NVidia seems to really want to make a go at reclaiming some of their market share.
DirectX 8 brought programmable graphics to the table. The problem with this was that it was too complicated and involved for programmers to work with efficiently. With DirectX 9, these same programmable graphics have become much easier for programmers to work with. This means that a slew of DirectX 9 titles will be out soon unlike DirectX 8. Anyone looking to upgrade a video card to play new titles coming out, needs to really give some thought into do they want the eye candy, features, and games only DirectX 9 titles will give them.
