I am no geek when it comes to computers, but I need a working computer that can play some of the latest RTS games, in this case, which was Civilization V. To replace my aging 8500gt after a brief union with the 9800gt, I needed something cool, quiet, with acceptable performance and most importantly, cheap. I got this for about 30 pounds from a friend, barely used and for me, an excellent deal about 7 months back, when it's lineup was in its prime. I will not list this complete specs of this, nor will I compare it to relevant or competing cards. The reason is, I am a consumer, and that is it. Do not expect an in-depth review, just everything that I experienced with my silent partner. The chip runs relatively cool and is very light on my power supply ( a 750 Watt Cooler master) and can play just about half of my games at the 1080p resolution and the other half at 720p on a 24' monitor (Check for my Benq E2400HD review). So it has kept me company on a journey along the RTS road playing games like Starcraft II, Civ 5 and Company of Heroes amongst others. It has been a pleasant journey and I am satisfied with both Nvidia and PNY and have yet to try out an ATI card, but as I am searching the local market for one, stay put for my next review.
