Advantages: great performance for price, runs cool, hardly any noticable noise, very overclockeable, directX 11
Disadvantages: Lack of gaming bundles if you care about bundles.
I bought this a few weeks ago to go with my new i7-950 processor. Installation was simple and took no more than 15 minutes. All you have to do is 1) uninstall the previous card's drivers, 2) switching the computer off and disconnecting the cords, 3) take the cover off the tower and pull out the old graphics card, 4) put the new one in and connect the cords, 5) install new Nvidia drivers from their website. And you're good to go! Can't go wrong.
I saw an immediate improvement in rendering ability compared to my old GTS 250. I was able to run Crysis, Black Ops and few other new titles with no hitches at all. The PNY GTX 460 really is a diamond amongst stones. I say this because it doesn't have any of the let-downs of older GF100 card release, such as high power consumption, high temperatures, and high noise levels. As such, the 460 effectively renders the 465 obsolete since the performance is almost identical, and it is cheaper, cooler, and less noisier.
In terms of performance the PNY GTX 460 thrashed my old GTS 250, and when I ran my GTS 250 in SLI mode (2 x GTS 250), the GTX 460 was yet again equal to if not better than both of these cards combines.
The GeForce GTX 460 is a huge improvement from the GF100 launch, the PNY GTX 460 brings strong gaming card at a good price to consumers like me on a modest budget. It beats the competing Radeon card, and takes out its own big brother the GTX 465, running cooler, quieter, and cheaper for what is far better value. A winner for PNY, Nvidia, and me!
Summary: An outstanding mid-range graphics card you have to buy!
