PNY GeForce 8 8600GT ... great choice for those with a modest monitor size, or wanting to play new games on a budget. The PNY 8600GT is by no means a high spec card, but for the low price it can be found is definitely worth a look for people with slightly modest expectations. Performance ranges from fair to excellent throughout most games, with even intense games such as Crysis being playable on medium settings at 1024x768. With only 256 MB of memory, it is going to struggle with the next gen games, but it performs admirably with older games, giving frame rates consistently of 45 plus in medium settings on games such as FEAR and Gears of War. The 6600GT In the box you will get the video card itself, a DVI to VGA adaptor; if you are still running an older VGA monitor you will appreciate this, an installation leaflet, PowerDVD software which is useful but not great as any media player nowadays will play your DVDs, and of course your drivers CD but I would recommend you go to the Nvidia website and download some of the later drivers as the ones in the box will be way out of date! PNY GeForce 8 8800GT ... geforce 8800gt is probably the best options right now on the market it s strong point are: 1) it s proably the fastest card on the market right now for this kind of money (150 pounds) 2)it has High Definition acceleration so you will be probably able to view a next gen video, blue ray o hd-dvd with almost any pc. 3) it support pci-e 2.0 even if the performance at least at the moment are probably on the level with the pci-express 1.0 standard, will work with vista without any problem, and of of course it s directx 10.0 compliant (right now only ati support directx 10.1 specification out of the box) 4) it has a good power consumption compared to the same generation ...
