Guerlain Secret De Purete Cleansing Milk
by sparkle1004
I have tried quite a few cream cleansers in my time because I find them very useful for taking off eye make up as facial washes don't usually remove all of mascara or eye liner. I am not faithful to any in particular so when I run out of one, I usually chose a new type. On a recent trip to Boots, I chose to use some of my vouchers on a ... 'posher' cream cleanser and so I chose the Secret de Purete Cleansing Milk by Guerlain.
What does the product do?
The product promises that it can remove even waterproof make up quickly while also hydrating the skin. It claims that it will leave the skin cleansed, smoother and illuminated, removing signs of tiredness, and it also claims that it will keep the skin looking younger for longer. It is suitable for use on all skin types. The cleanser contains Crystal Lotus Flower which has been included to purify the skin and also to restore it back to its former glory.
How do you use the product?
This product can be used on its own to cleanse the face but I use a facial wash first. I then dispense some of the product onto my hand and then your my finger tip to massage the product onto the eye area. Then I use a cotton pad to wipe away the make up and I repeat this until the pads come away clean. I then moisturise my face and carry on with my usual make up regime.
Packaging and Price
The product comes in an expensive looking white bottle which has some writing and information printed onto it. The lid is silver and it has Guerlain indented in it. When you remove the lid, you see the pump mechanism which you push down on in order for the product to be released. The product doesn't come cheap and it will cost you around £30 to purchase it. It can be bought from department stores such as Boots and also from a variety of online websites.
Application and Performance
The product is white in colour and it has quite a thick consistency and it looks a bit like a heavy moisturiser. When you apply the product to the skin, it feels very lightweight and the formula isn't greasy at all which is a blessing if you have oily skin like mine. It feels completely comfortable on the skin and it doesn't irritate me at all. It feels really hydrating so it is just as moisturising as promised which helps to keep your skin looking younger for longer.
It is easy to wipe away with a cotton pad and because it is so hydrating, it doesn't pull or drag your skin as you are wiping it away which will prevent wrinkles from forming. It removes every last bit of my make up, even my water proof mascara, and it does so quickly so you don't need to keep rubbing the skin. After use my skin feels soft and there isn't any redness left behind. It hasn't caused any blemishes and it leaves my skin feeling squeaky clean. I'm not sure if it illuminated as was promised but then I didn't buy it for this reason so I don't mind.
Conclusion
This is a gentle but effective cream cleanser which quickly removes eye make up while hydrating the skin. It is expensive but you only use a little bit at a time so it will be long lasting. I really like this product and I would repurchase it once it is all gone. I'm knocking off one star just because it is a bit too expensive Read the complete review |

Guerlain Orchidee Imperiale Fluid
by bringingsexyback
WHAT IS IT?
A moisurising fluid containing Guerlains Orchidee Imperiale Molecular Extract. This is taken from the orchid and forms the whole Orchidee Imperiale range. This fluid is lighter than than the iconic cream so is suitable for most skin types, the very rich cream is harsh so you need very resilient skin to use it. ...
HOW DO YOU USE IT?
Cleanse your skin thoroughly and pat dry. Apply a very small amount of fluid to your skin and massage in using gentle circular motions.
BENEFITS
This is an anti-aging fluid and promises visible results in two weeks. I use it myself and it's moisturising but I do not have wrinkles to test out these claims on my own skin. One of my older ladies uses Guerlain products and has beautiful skin but after trialling the Orchidee Imperiale on my recommendation she has told me that the crows feet around her eyes are shallower and I can see this is the case. I can see that the fine lines round her mouth are smoother too, these effects took longer than two weeks but show that the fluid is effective.
WHAT I THINK
This Guerlain fluid is beautiful to use and feels very soft against my skin, like velvet. It absorbs very quickly and leaves a silky powdery feeling on my skin, I love the way my skin looks after I have applied the fluid because it glows with health and vitality. The fluid is better used in the morning to make your skin look good all day long, for extra moisture you can use the Orchidee Imperiale cream at nighttime but if you do that you should do a skin patch test first because it doesn't suit everyone.
It doesn't feel sticky on my skin and leaves it feeling very soft and smooth. I apply my foundation after using this fluid because it gives me a good base and helps me to attain a flawless finish. There is no residue after using this fluid and I have never had a poor skin reaction to it.
ANYTHING ELSE?
A 30ml bottle of this fluid costs £180 in Debenhams and is sold in a beautiful glass and navy pump bottle, the pump dispenses a very small amount every time you press it so you don't waste any of the fluid because at that price you can't afford to waste a drop.

Guerlain Rouge Automatique Lipstick
by Danni13
Intro
I brought this lipstick a couple of months ago after deciding to invest more money into a new lipstick in the hope it will last longer on. I was attracted by the nice range of shades, 25 in total, and the stylish packaging.
PACKAGING
The lipsticks comes in a very nice gold tube, which is quite a ... fancy gadget, as it has no lid. You access the lipstick by sliding the button on the slide which opens the top and brings the lipstick up. It solves the problem of losing your lipsticks lid in your handbag and getting fluff on your lipstick. I was slightly concerned that it would brake after time, but 2 months down the line in my handbag and it is still going strong.
LIPSTICK ITSELF
The lipstick producing quite a sheer finish, more so than you would think just looking at it, which was a slight dissapointment as i wanted more of a matt finish as they usually last longer. The lipstick feels a little bit like a gloss when you first apply it which quickly goes away. The lipstick lasted about 1.5/2 hours which is slightly better than most sheer lipsticks, but personally i would of liked it to last longer.
PRICE
The lipstick retails about 25 pounds
CONCLUSION
Personally i would spend this amount of money again. While it applies nicely onto the lips, giving a moisturing sheer finish it didnt last as long as i hoped a 25 pound lipstick would.
