Advantages: Lovely colour and quality, nice packaging, easy to apply accurately.
Disadvantages: VERY pricey.
I was very lucky to win one of these Guerlain lip glosses in a competition recently, I say lucky because it transpires this range is very pricey (it is not one I would ever dream of buying make up from due to the cost) but winning it gave me a chance to try it and try and fathom if it is indeed of some superior quality which vindicates the £20 standard price tag.
Overall I think this one is a mixed bag and although the colour and the quality are great I believe there are other glosses on the market (L'ancome Juicy Tubes come to mind immediately) which rival this product on those aspects but at a much more pocket friendly price.
I do not wear a lot of make up and for that reason I tend to go through a lot of lip gloss as I much prefer it to lipstick, I always have at least one gloss in every bag for work and home so I can reapply on the go (and preferably without a mirror!).
The gloss which I won is in a pretty shade called Cherry Pink which is a little darker than a baby pink (which puzzles me as to my mind a cherry is generally more of a red/cerise colour than a baby pink?) and because the bottle is see through you get a very good indication of the shade from the outside. The lid is squared off and the bottle is a square shape too which makes it easy to identify from other glosses when fishing in your bag!
The wand is fairly flat and I have to say very good at ensuring accuracy of application, in terms of the gloss quality I was pretty pleased too, it does not bleed much at all and the hint of colour is just enough to be distinct without being overwhelming, I liked the subtlety of it. It is quite a sticky, thick gloss but feels very nice on your lips and as long as you can resist the urge to lick it during the first few minutes it sets very well and does not budge.
Don't get me wrong, this is a lovely item and one I will enjoy using until it runs out - but at the price tag of around £20 I just could not justify the spend.
Summary: A lovely product which gives great coverage but a little too pricey for me to justify.
