If I had wrinkles then you could claim that there was gold in them there wrinkles when I use this product as there are actual little flecks of 24 carat gold in it and given the fact that the price of gold has been rising recently (it always does when the stock market tanks) you would expect this product not to be cheap especially when it comes from Guerlain. A 30ml bottle will set up back £34.99 which is rather pricey for what is effectively a primer which also does help to brighten up your complexion and give it a bit of sparkle although this sparkle is purely in the mind because the minute gold flecks are absorbed into your skin so you are not left with a face covered in gold glitter or anything like that.

I have to say that despite the cost I do love this primer, my skin really does look great when I use this, it looks more toned and a lot firmer. My skin has a soft feel after application and it helps to reduce any blemishes. It is also supposed to help hydrate your skin however I'm less confident of this claim and cannot say that I have noticed any great differences after using it.

It works on a pump action to deliver the primer from what is quite a solid glass bottle and you need to use it sparingly as it does spread easily across your skin. It is a clear gel with the flecks of gold and it does leave a nice sheen on my skin as I apply it. If I do not apply make up over it then my skin has a healthy glow to it and this is all part of the dual role it can play, on its own you have a nice healthy glow however it also works as a primer and can be the base to apply your make up over however if you use it for this then the glow is some what dulled by the extra make up. If my skin has dried out at all then I find this to be an excellent product to use if I do not have time to hydrate it fully.

The big downside is the cost and I must admit I use this sparingly, it is certainly not something I would use for every day use given the cost. Having said that the results are very good so it is certainly worth adding to the xmas list.
