Guerlain Ombre Eclat One Shade Eyeshadow


Over the last little while I have been building up a small collection of Guerlain makeup and skin care products. Although they are a very expensive brand I find that not only the quality is great, but the longevity of their products is fantastic. With everything I have bought, a little goes a long way and I get a lot of wear for my money, this eye shadow is no exception and although I don't wear it every day I do wear this probably more than I do the majority of my others.


This Guerlain ombre éclat eye shadow is one of my favourite eye shadow's even with or without an eye primer this eye shadow stays looking great for most of the day. It also comes packaged in a wonderful little jewel like box that looks expensive and adds a touch of luxury to my makeup collection.


Guerlain say that "these high-technology eye shadows create an impeccable finish leaving the eyes velvety, pearly or sparkling." I would completely agree with this, these eye shadows deliver great results. There are quite a few different shades available and I went for a brownish shade that is suitable for night or day wear.


It is really easy to get a smooth and even coverage with this eye shadow, in fact when it is on it stays put. That means if you make a mistake applying this it is harder to fix than some of the cheaper brands. It is a powder but it has quite a creamy texture to it. A few of my friends have complimented on how nice my makeup looks when I wear this.


Depending upon what I am doing that day or whether I want to wear this as evening wear depends how I apply it. For a nice and natural day look I just very lightly use a brush and sweep a small amount of this over my eyes, which gives me a hint of colour and sparkle but it looks very light and natural. For evening wear I apply this using my fingers and then blend with a brush, or I am just quite heavy handed with a brush to build up a thicker stronger look.


Guerlain are a luxury brand of makeup products and they deliver great quality items, but unfortunately that comes with a heavy price tag. This Ombre Eclat one shade eye shadow costs a rather expensive £19 and can be easily found online or in many high street outlets, I bought mine from John Lewis. When I have some spare money there is another couple of colours that I have my eyes on. This really lasts and last, I have had mine for a few months now and I have hardly made a dent in it even when using this quite a lot.


Overall, I really like this eye shadow and although it is expensive I believe that it has been worth every penny. I think this deserves a great 5 out of 5 stars.
