Advantages: Removes eye make up in a gentle and effective way

Disadvantages: The price

I have tried quite a few cream cleansers in my time because I find them very useful for taking off eye make up as facial washes don't usually remove all of mascara or eye liner. I am not faithful to any in particular so when I run out of one, I usually chose a new type. On a recent trip to Boots, I chose to use some of my vouchers on a 'posher' cream cleanser and so I chose the Secret de Purete Cleansing Milk by Guerlain.

What does the product do?
The product promises that it can remove even waterproof make up quickly while also hydrating the skin. It claims that it will leave the skin cleansed, smoother and illuminated, removing signs of tiredness, and it also claims that it will keep the skin looking younger for longer. It is suitable for use on all skin types. The cleanser contains Crystal Lotus Flower which has been included to purify the skin and also to restore it back to its former glory.

How do you use the product?
This product can be used on its own to cleanse the face but I use a facial wash first. I then dispense some of the product onto my hand and then your my finger tip to massage the product onto the eye area. Then I use a cotton pad to wipe away the make up and I repeat this until the pads come away clean. I then moisturise my face and carry on with my usual make up regime.

Packaging and Price
The product comes in an expensive looking white bottle which has some writing and information printed onto it. The lid is silver and it has Guerlain indented in it. When you remove the lid, you see the pump mechanism which you push down on in order for the product to be released. The product doesn't come cheap and it will cost you around £30 to purchase it. It can be bought from department stores such as Boots and also from a variety of online websites.

Application and Performance
The product is white in colour and it has quite a thick consistency and it looks a bit like a heavy moisturiser. When you apply the product to the skin, it feels very lightweight and the formula isn't greasy at all which is a blessing if you have oily skin like mine. It feels completely comfortable on the skin and it doesn't irritate me at all. It feels really hydrating so it is just as moisturising as promised which helps to keep your skin looking younger for longer.

It is easy to wipe away with a cotton pad and because it is so hydrating, it doesn't pull or drag your skin as you are wiping it away which will prevent wrinkles from forming. It removes every last bit of my make up, even my water proof mascara, and it does so quickly so you don't need to keep rubbing the skin. After use my skin feels soft and there isn't any redness left behind. It hasn't caused any blemishes and it leaves my skin feeling squeaky clean. I'm not sure if it illuminated as was promised but then I didn't buy it for this reason so I don't mind.

Conclusion
This is a gentle but effective cream cleanser which quickly removes eye make up while hydrating the skin. It is expensive but you only use a little bit at a time so it will be long lasting. I really like this product and I would repurchase it once it is all gone. I'm knocking off one star just because it is a bit too expensive

Summary: A gentle and effective eye make up remover which also hydrates the skin
