Advantages: Gentle exfoiliating action
Disadvantages: Expensive - but worth it.
I've just realised that I refered to this product in a previous review and hadn't reviewed it yet, so apologies if you have looked for it.
** What is it?
"Gommage Biologique" or "Biological peeling radiance gel" is an exfoiliator with a difference. When you say exfoiliator, most products that come to mind have some sort of abrasive granules which remove dead skin cells to enhance the complexion, they also encourage cell renewal.
This exfoiliator does exactly the same but does so using fruit acids rather than grainy particles. The description of biological peeling makes it sound a bit scary (makes me think of chemical peels, not that I've had one) but it's actually very gentle and caring for sensitive skin.
**Application
The gel like formula is a pearlescent cream colour with a pleasant fragrance, stronger than most Guinot products I've used, but a nice fruity smell. When you apply to the face in circular motions the gel texture lightens to a slightly oily film. This change in the texture means the product is working, removing dead cells and encouraging new growth. Once it has all become the lighter oily texture it can be removed with lukewarm water.
**Price & Packaging
It comes in the usual red and white Guinot packaging in a 50ml tube and costs around £20. I usually buy from www.serenityproducts.co.uk - good prices and fast, free delivery.
I get about 15 applications out of a tube so lasts about 2 months. It's pricey but it one of my top 10 skincare products so I'll just have to find the pennies from somewhere!
**Verdict
I love the effect this has on my skin, it feels clean and fresh and looks clearer with a healthy glow. For me, this is an absolute must have product.
Summary: Another Guinot winner.
