Advantages: Excellent results, nice product to use.
Disadvantages: Quite expensive.
I've just had a spare 30 mins with baby napping so I decided not to clean the kitchen and instead to have a little mummy pamper time instead.
I absolutely adore Guinot products and find that although pricey they pretty much always deliver outstanding results. I've reviewed a couple of products previously but today's choice was the Hydra Beaute mask and an eye mask (review to follow).
After exfoiliating with the gommage biologique (see previous review), I applied this mask which in english is called "moisture supplying radiance mask" and left to work for 10 minutes.
The mask is a thick lotion texture and is white in colour, when applied it sinks into the skin, not leaving a big gloop on your face as some masks do. There is not a strong fragrance, just a light fresh smelling scent.
The mask is made for dehydrated skin (not to be confused with dry skin - the first lacks water, the latter lacks oil) and promises to:
* Refresh dehydrated skin
* Brighten complexion
* Refresh and vitalize skin.
Does it work?
For me, absolutely yes. I see results everytime I use it, my skin feels and looks smoother and I notice fine lines less. I often have dehydrated patches on my skin, making the area look uneven, and it sorts them out every time.
The price is about the same as you would expect for a Guinot product so not cheap. The 50ml tube costs around £22 and I would say I get about 20 applications out of it, so lasts about 2-3 months using twice a week.
I tend to buy my Guinot products from a company called Serenity Beauty as I find they offer good prices and fast, free delivery. Often you get free samples aswell. The product's box often gets crumpled during postage but I don't keep the boxes, so doesn't bother me.
