My review of Yamaha Guitars (in general) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~ Introduction ~~~~~~~~ Most people know the Japanese brand name Yamaha; some folks associate the name with motorbikes, some with pianos, but what I m interested in is of course Yamaha Guitars (unless Yamaha want to combine all 3 items - which would make for a very fast, novel and musical form of transport -lol!). Most guitarists have always lusted after American made instruments like Fender, Gibson or Martin etc. Some English, German and Italian guitars also made it onto the must have list... but in their early days many Japanese guitars were (quite rightly) snee... 	Tokai LS150 ... is my second guitar, it is a Les Paul copy made in China. It has a standard string thru bridge with a rosewood fretboard with trapezoid inlays. I m not sure what wood it made out of. The pickups are standard Tokai ones and the tuners I think are Grover. This guitar is based on the Gibson Les Paul standard, mine is in Cherry Sunburst. The tuners work great, I always forget to tune but it stays in tune very well. The neck itself is very smooth, the fretboard is very, very good, fret wires are the perfect height, its easy to slide, I love the D shape of the neck. 	Zoom G2.1U ... am not the best judge of this pedal due to the fact that I ve only used it with the Roland Cube 30X which is a digital modelling amp and the combo of a digital amp and a digital amp isn t a good one. It is easy to use once you get used to it, there are settings already assigned to each patch and you can edit these or create your own. There are two footswitches one to go to the previous patch and one to go to the next patch. There is also an expression pedal which can control parameters such as volume and is also used for wah and whammy effects.The manual is very helpful and tells you what each knob does for each effect and the kind of sounds you can get.
