... wise these basses are excellent for the price, my first bass was one of the budget series and served me for a number of years. The shape and tone will not be to everyones taste but for me it was acceptable. Bass was a little top heavy for my liking and was not quite as thick as I wanted again for the price whose complaining? Fender Jazz Bass ... recieved this bass around 6 months ago, and for the price i am really impressed with the standard. I paid Ģ220 (brand new condition with protective plastic and tags still intact) which to me is a bargain compared to the Ģ440 retail price! Starting off with the sound, this bass is very versatile. When (if) you get this bass make sure you sit down and have a play with the control knobs as you will see the number of different sounds you can get out of it. I play hardcore, screamo, blues, rock, classic rock, metal, and this bass manages to create great sounds for all these styles. The quality of the bass is also very high standard. Fender Squier P-Bass ... title actually is not correct. This is not a regular "Fender Squier P-Bass" but it s a "Fender Squier P-Bass Special Edition". It s just the same as the Standard P-Bass but in different colours. I really like the black headstock though! The bass plays smoothly, the P-bass neck is nice n thin (bit thinner than an original standard bass guitar neck) but still has the P-sound or J-sound (Depends on your pick up configuration). For it s price, the bass guitar sounds pretty good but Squier is generally a good brand, unlike the cheaper ones from the Fender brand. Rocktile Boondock IV ... is a good bass and the price is really nice. The features are: Bubinga top and back in the body. Mahogany betwen the bubinga pieces. Neck through body, three pieces laminated mahogany and maple. The pickups are made by Kramer, active electronics, with two bands EQ. Masive bridge. Good tuners. Mother of pearl dots in the rosewood fretboard. Strings through the body also. Well, the bass sound well. It got good woods and decent electronics and hardware so the sound is solid, round, and very versatile. The funky sounds are present, and this bass is good for jazz or rock also.
