Gibson SG-Z Bass:
... bass has some nice action on it, and the body does give that polished professional look. However, the marble - effect scratch plate is tacky and I recommend buying a plain black or asking for plain black instead. I love the vintage pick-ups, obsessed with them. A nice balanced sound, bit on the trebly side. However, sitting down an playing feels somewhat awkward, a problem for some but thought i d mention. The pi... Gibson Les Paul Standard Bass ... all around good bass, not the best for learners. The tone out of this bass is tremendous but you do sacrifice alot for this bass. Yes, you get the glamourous look and x-factor but the bass, similar to the guitar, is heavy and gets hard to play when you get to the 20-24 fret zone (Depending on the neck size). Also, it doesn t "like" slappin n poppin as the pick-ups are moderate for pick-ups that come with it. I would recommend this bass to old rock bassists where the bass lines that you play consist of small runs and low bass lines (nothing to high up the fret board)... Gibson Acoustic Guitars ... guitar is probably the best guitar you can start with as they can be sold cheap and are pretty much expendible. You don t need the best of the acoustic guitars to begin, all you need is a cheap 6 string 20~ fret acoustic guitar. However, If you go for an electric guitar you have to pay for the guitar AND an amp AND the leads. If you just bought an acoustic guitar and you didn t like it, it would only be a small cheap expence wasted, but if you bought an electric guitar, its a fairly expensive waste. Plus, playing acoustic guitar is great for quite jams with friends, great for acoustic sets (Good money for bands who play acoustic sets) and even begging (Alot of mo... Yamaha Bass Series in general ... am currently playing a yamaha RBX374 4-string which i bought for around £220 when it was brand new, In the shop they offerd me the 5-string version but that was an extra £70. For 5 more notes i wasnt really up for paying that as i was working with 6 string guitarists and didnt see much need for it. The RBX374 is awesome in making low end sounds, it produces muddy low notes as good as any bass ive ever played regardless of manufacter or price. Although this awesome bass is great at the low end sounds, its mid and high end are relatively firm too making this bass strong in all genres of playing such as rock, blues, funk etc. Players who prefer to play with a plectrum or ...
