I've been playing brass instruments for many years now, I had the misfortune to begin on trumpet, I didn't like that. I went along to my local brass band where I was given a cornet. I was happy with my cornet for a number of years before being 'told' i was to go onto flugel. I didn't appreciate it at the time but now I would never choose to play cornet. When I started university I had to give my precious flugel back to teh band as they owned it, I had played sovereign for about 6 years and was then given a bottom of the range yamaha. bass seems to be a part of music that is over looked this could be because the instruments are not very exciting but the fact is music with out bass is not worth while! as a person who plays bass instruments I would say that all bass instruments are worth while & you shouldn't put a limit on your price range!! this will only hinder your playing! it is a good idea to pay as much as possible on your instrument! this does not only go for bass instruments but all instruments! I think though bass instruments are the most important to give the music it's unique sound! when buying your bass instrument you need to make sure it is good for you! as a musician you should ...
