This guitar is marketed as an old school replica. Inexperience might lead one to believe he/she would buy a '60s tele in order to achieve old school sounds. This guitar is often viewed as a twangy guitar for rockabilly or country. People associate the tele with a thin, wirey, bright, and jangly sound great for those types of music.
