Advantages: Floating bridge, unique sound

Disadvantages: Buzzy, easily knocked out of tune

The Fender jaguar is a very distinctive guitar, and easily stands out in Fenders range of guitars. This is not just in the 'looks' department, the sound from this guitar is also very unique and is not suitable for all styles of playing. This is largely due to how 'loose' the guitar is, even when set up by a professional.

This is largely due to the floating bridge. As the strings sit on top of the bridge, there is nothing except their tension to hold them in place. this means if you play to with top much vigor you will knock the string out of the 'ridge' on the bridge which in turn knocks it out of tune. The only way you can stop this happening is if you replace the bridge with a solid Gibson bridge (which fits fine).

Another problem with this guitar is that due to all the pickup and tone options the internal wiring isn't very clean, and often has a buzz. This is also a result of the input jack being very difficult to tighten.

However despite all this i love playing mine, but i would recommend for any possible buyers to try it before you commit to buying one.
