Squier guitars almost exclusively make cheaper copies of guitars made by it's big brother, Fender. Probably one of the most famous guitars in the world is the Strat, and here's squiers take on the model. Now some people tend to look down on Squiers as cheap knock off Fenders, when in reality they are made to the same standards and measurements as Fender but made with cheaper materials in countries with cheaper labour. Often seen as a beginners guitar, and it is quiet obvious why. When I am asked what guitar a beginner should get often a squier or a Yamaha is the answer. This guitar is made by the same factories as the "normal" Fender guitars and is of almost the same quality; just a reduced price tag. There are 2 types of Squier, and the Standard is the better of the 2. This guitar has everything the more expensive models have, and I have even seen some people performing on stage with these types rather than the full-price Strats. It is of a medium weight, and generally speaking, you will need to factor in the cost of a gig bag to carry it in, leads, plectrums, a stand and an amplifier, but even then it's still great value as a starter guitar. The colours and designs are more limited than its more ... Read the complete review
