This was my first serious guitar i purchased and it still remains my favourite! I currently have both have a Fender Stratocaster and a Gibson Les Paul but my Fender is always my first port of call! The guitar is capable of amazing tones whether it be a melody or backing chords! There are many types of strats, different necks, pickups ... Read the complete review

This guitar is simply incredible! It has not got its reputation for no reason and many famous guitar players such as Eric Clapton, Buddy Holly, John Mayer, Bob Dylan and Robert Cray all have one. Without going into a detailed account they were first produced in the 1950s and were designed by the renound Leo Fender. I originally had a Westfield ... Read the complete review

Guitars a little like fine wine...it all depends on the year. Recent Gibsons for example are slightly lesser quality wood and tend to have very glossy finishes. I'm so relieved that Fender arn't going through a patch like this though. My Stratocaster is an American Standard, made in the USA and a 2008 model. Its in a cream finish ... Read the complete review

I just want to start by saying: I LOVE MY STRAT. My Mexican strat is based on the model from the 1960s with 11 screw holes in the scratchplate, a 60's style neck, 3 single coil picks, 5 way selector switch and is it is also incredibly light and comes with a whammy bar. If you love stuff like The Red Hot Chili Peppers and ... Read the complete review

Don't waste your time, patience, or money on a new MIM Strat. You'll be tuning if not after every song, then 'during' every song. Cheap tuners, weak pickups, thicker neck than an American Strat, plain corner- cutting on quality. Maybe the Strat 'sound' is kinda there, but, at the cost of everything else.
Save up $550.00- $800.00, and go find a 'used' American Strat. You'll thank me in the end...No stars deserved.

I was given a Squire Strat by a friend, I have had it for just over a year now and it has never let me down. The guitar is in perfect condition and plays brilliantly. It has 3 standard single-coil pick-ups (the white things under the strings with 6 metal dots in) and a 5 channel toggle switch (the one with the white top that slides back ... Introduction I own a Fender Stratocaster 1962 reissue guitar that I purchased way back in 1989. This guitar was manufactured in Japan at some point during 1988. This guitar is something that I am pretty fond of, what with it being my first “proper” guitar, and at the time taking me the best part of a year to ... Read the complete review

My mother has not only a great singing voice a piano technique(classical)but a degree as well.So you'd think I'd be musical from birth but I didn't much like classical, hated her country & western stuff -singing cowboys!!!really? - so it never struck me till age 14 when I heard AC/DC for the first time and that was that.Still ... just ask dave gilmour, mark knopfler, billy corgan, stevie ray vaughan, ed o'brien, kurt cobain or jimi hendrix. this guitar is a design classic. possibly the most recognisable guitar design ever, the fender stratocaster was designed in the early 1950s and was a hit almost instantly, due to it's versatility and feel. ... When I was trying to choose my first guitar, my task was made somewhat easier in that my flat mate owned the model of guitar I was most seriously considering: a Fender MIM (made in Mexico) Stratocaster, officially known by Fender as the Standard Stratocaster. I realise this category is Fender Stratocasters in General, and in this review I ... Read the complete review

The 50’s Fender Stratocaster is just one of many versions of electric guitar released by Fender, (The Well Acclaimed American Producer Of Quality Guitars.) My Fender Stratocaster is a 50’s classic Mexican Sunburst Stratocaster, 6 string style. At the time of purchase, (3 years ago) it cost me £470. This seemed to be ... Read the complete review

^This guitar is one of the higher end of the Fender Line, 3 Texas specials, one piece alder body, gold hardware, superior fittings. With only 1997 made its always going to be a bit of a rarity,( mine is no 14 ) it is made in eye catching sunburst, but it is when you plug it in you know it is something special. It has a glassy tone a little ... Read the complete review

If you would like to own a piece of guitar history at a reasonable price just look at the Fender Mexican range. I have been playing and enjoying a 1996 Mexican Fender and it's great. Quality has not been sacrificed. The finish is 100% easy to maintain, even the tremole work great. Playablity I cannot fault, the weight of your fingers is ... Read the complete review

This is the most beautifully crafted guitar you can get, the ease of play is almost sensual. The 3 single coil pick-ups just scream with laughing pain. It is ideal for beginners, costs a fraction of a Stratocaster, well constructed, looks fabulaous. Should keep you occupied for a few years! The tremelo system lets it down, but that is ... I bought my Fender Squier Strat secondhand about 2 years ago for £80, with a new 10 watt amp (it was a bargain!). The guitar's description is as follows: Red Finish Rosewood Fretboard (Maple Neck) 21 Frets Plywood body (you can see the different woods if you look *really* hard under certain lights) ... I just read my original review of this piece of kit (kit!), and i really dont know what i was on when i wrote it, so heres an altogether better review...... I bought my Strat in mid 1999. Its a squires, so obviously isnt up to the standard of a proper Fender strat, but its near enough, for a beginner. I wanted to get one a) because a ... Read the complete review

My brother recently bought a standard Fender Stratocaster. But me being a big-fingered guy who plays bass found this model somewhat awkward. The frets after the seventh are too close together and I found it impossible to close off power chords. It is a decent instrument if you plan on playing behind the 5th fret. Perhaps if I felt like paying ... Read the complete review

I own a Left Handed Black Fender strat that is nearly 10 years old now. It is still in lovely condition due to the lack of play as i prefer my Aria Pro II Semi Acoustic to practice on. My Fender has a lovely sound to it. Crisp and clear. Its not like the Warm sound of my Semi or the grunt that a Gibson Les paul gives out. Mine is one of the ... Read the complete review

A few years ago, at the height of my Smashing Pumpkins obsession, a modest influx of cash gave me the means to get my very own Stratocaster. Now I could be just like Billy Corgan. However, I only had £300 to spend, so I decided to check out a Mexican Strat in Sound Control, Glasgow. The first two I tried were pleasant enough, but didn't ... Read the complete review
