... frets. Compared to other "metal" guitars I've played/owned in the past; the Gibson is miles ahead. (Jackson's warrior and Soloist and a few Ibanez RG series guitars) The SG boasts a classic design, changed little over the years simply because it doesn't need it. I'd highly recommend one of these for rock style playing, or even just because you dream of being Angus Young! Its a fantastic guitar which only gets better with age and more valuable too!...more

The Gibson SG, The Last line in Rock n Roll! From Angus Young to Toni Iommi the SG really is the Iconic Heavy Metal guitar. My SG is a '61 Re-issue and was made in 1989 so has had plenty of time to wear in to its full potential. As You'd expect from Gibson the guitar is very light, and the wood is of top quality with an excellent finish! Despite its age, my one manages to take a good few knocks without showing any signs after. Other nice details to the finish include the Mother of peal inlays and nickel plated humbuckers.
