Advantages: Gives beginners everything they need

Disadvantages: Sound/tone is not the best, but you get what you pay for

This was my first classical guitar after deciding to give the style of playing a go, diversifying from 7 years of electric and acoustic. I can now say it was a brilliant guitar to set me off on the right track, and provides everything that a beginner needs.

Hohner is a traditional guitar manufacturer and well known around the world for building good value products, in terms of price and performance.

This particular guitar is 3/4 size with a spruce top and a hardwood fretboard. The gloss finish makes the guitar visually pleasing and i have never had any damage shown on mine, even though it has not been treated quite as well as it should have!
The neck is quite wide and thick and the frets are sparce, but this is a feature on all classical guitars as the playing is mainly focussed around finger picking patterns and not just holding chords shapes while strumming. This can take a little getting used to if you are changing directly from an electric or acoustic guitar, but it is well worth the effort. The neck is nice and smooth and it is easy to glide up and down the fretboard.
The strings are easy to tune using the machine heads, however, they often fall out of tune within a short space of time, which means constant readjusting.

I must say i didn't particularly like the sound and tone of the guitar when i first used it, but that may have been because i was comparing it to my acoustic guitar. If you take this guitar for what it is, a beginners classical, then you will enjoy playing it and what can be achieved with it.

Personally, it took some getting used to, but now i really enjoy playing it and probably even use it more than any others.

Summary: A good guitar to learn classical on, but by no means the best
