An amazing guitar and such a great price for this brand name

      Martin 000X1 Acoustic

I was given this guitar for christmas a couple of years ago and still have it in my bedroom today. It was purchased from a guitar shop in guilford that stocks thousands of martins so i went in before christmas to try a few out and this one stuck out a mile, not just for the great price but its elegant looks. It costs around £600 RRP, but what do you get for your money? Well, you get:

      A Solid spruce top
      High-pressure laminate back and sides
      Indian rosewood fretboard
      Natural finish
      Tortoiuse shell scratchplate
      20 frets

This was my first mid-priced guitar and its absolutely fantastic! i use ot mainly to play bluesy pop music like John Mayer and Jason Mraz and it really stands up to the pressure of hard strumming and and constant fingerpicking. Mine is around 3 years old now and the frets are still in mint condition, which is pretty incredible seeing as i play it for around 2 hours a day.

The 000X1 has a great deep tone and the martin stings sound amazing for the price. replacing these can costs upto £20 for a full set so be careful, but they're really worth it. i tend to use light bronze for a really twangy blues sound.

For the relatively low price compared to most martin guitars, you really get your money's worth here for an amazing looking natural finish with a beautiful spruce top. The next models up cost around £800 RRP so as with any guitar, if you can afford it id go with a more expensive model but your getting a great piece of kit here for the price. i will definitely still be playing mine for the next 5 - 6 years and should hopefully be trouble-free!
