You wont believe your ears! (Parker Fly Supreme)

Advantages: You can acheive pretty much ANY sound with this guitar Disadvantages: Expensive to repair This was the only Parker guitar I could find on here to review. My particular model is the P-42. I am usually the type to stick with the great traditional gear/ sounds. I have a lovely Washburn 355-type guitar and also a Fender Squier Protone Strat (i.e. American pickups/electronics, but the rest Korean). But when I gig I can usually only take one, and always struggled to decide which would be best. But then I got a Parker guitar, and although I don't love the look, the sound and range of sounds is amazing. It has a Fishman pickup in the bridge, alongs with two single-coils and a humbucker. You have the usual 5-way pickup selector, but also a separate switch where you can choose either standard pickups only, acoustic pickup only, or you can mix the two - and this is where the guitar really comes into its own. You can emulate practically any type of guitar! I often will stick to the standard pickups for some funky rhythm, but then switch in the acoustic pickup for a smooth deep solo that sounds like I've just switched this weedy little guitar for a Les Paul or something! I really love gigging with it. And the action and feel of the guitar is brilliant too. Along the lines of Ibanez I would say. If the sound/ variety of sounds is what counts for you, then go get a Parker. Summary: If you're after great sound, go for a Parker. |
