Advantages: Easy to use & light weight
Disadvantages: Sore fingers
I got the "Squier Fender SA100 Acoustic Guitar" from my wife Susan for Christmas. You know what its like, they ask you what you want for Christmas and you say "I am not bothered anything", Well this year I was telling her I wanted to learn how to play an Acoustic Guitar.
The joke was I would serenade her down the allotment in the summer :). Susan said I was not having one as she knows I would probably turn up at her job as sing to her. I do silly thing like send her a dozen red roses for Valentines Day etc.
Well imagine my surprise to find a BIG box in the front room on Christmas day, knowing what the kids had got I knew it was for me. I ripped of the paper and found the Squier Fender SA100 Acoustic Guitar, I was over the moon, but my kids played heck with there mum as she was seen to be encouraging me.
Well the first thing is the quality of the Squier Fender SA100 Acoustic Guitar; it's made by "Fender" the best guitar maker in the world!
The pack includes everything you need to start to learn to play the guitar.
Inside the box is obviously the Squier Fender SA100 Acoustic Guitar, which is made out of rosewood. It really does look a quality item; it's well made and is in a natural wood colour with a gloss finish. The tuners are made of chrome and not some cheap metal. The weight is very light and is very easy to pick up with the minimum of fuss, the guitar string are steel which from what I have been told has a far better sound than the nylon strings. Over all is a sturdy item that looks nice and seems to be well put together.
Also in the box is a black guitar bag which I thought was a good idea as it would cost extra money for a guitar bag. Sadly and to be blunt the bag is not the best quality, cheap imitation leather and to be honest I would probably rather have paid a bit more to get a better quality bag. Don't get me wrong the bag will do and will probably last if you look after it.
You can pick up a solid case for around £40+ so shop around.
The bag is the only thing that lets the Squier Fender SA100 Acoustic Guitar down.
The strap that comes in the pack is a pretty well made and of good quality.
I found the instruction book very good even for complete beginners like myself; it shows you how to tune and how to basically get starting. I personally think its worth either getting a DVD or find a nice person who will tutor you.
The picks that you get are also of a good Fender quality, Loads of different colours to choose from. You can pick new picks up from as little as a pound from your local music shop.
You also get pitch pipes which after reading the information are for tuning your guitar. I couldn't get the hang of the pipe so I cheated and picked up an electronic tuner from my local shop for £10.
I can't really give a review into how well it sounds as I am only just starting to play this week, but after just a practice on getting my finger use to plucking the strings and learning how to hold the guitar, from what I can hear its sounds very good and Susan says its sounds really clear.
I highly recommend this guitar for beginners like myself and you can pick it up for around £80.

I must not forget to mention the fingers....i didn't realise how much my fingers tips would hurt. Its down to the fingers being to soft, the skin will harden in about 10 days.....so the dvd i got tells me. But as they say no pain no gain :(
Review also on ciao
Thanks for reading my reviews, and thankyou for rating them.
